Performing Arts Education
The Pullum Center provides free arts instruction to more than 1,200 students, ages 5 to 20, at our headquarters and partner schools. Classes are designed to run throughout the school year with at least three opportunities for each student to showcase their talent at community performances. Each student receives personalized instruction based on their age and level of experience.
Our goals are to:
-
Improve students' appreciation for the performing arts and how participation can improve their lives.
-
Reinforce students' commitment to their schoolwork.
-
Increase students' desire to contribute to their local community.
-
Develop students’ self-esteem and leadership skills, impart a sense of belonging and reduce self-destructive behavior.
-
Through their classwork, performances, and self-directed practice, our students gain competency in an art form that will enhance their lives.
Thanks to your band and organization for being a part of my jazz festival. They were superb! Thank you all again and they were fantastic!"
